UV Bandmapper

#1

I ran into a UV problem texturing curvy surfaces recently and posted this thread:

UV Spider worked, but I found that I couldn’t modify the UV Map it created. I did a search on NewTek’s LightWave forum and came up with a solution: UV Bandmapper.

If you need to create UVs on curvy surfaces, this can be a lifesaver.

That UV Bandmapper looks like a great solution to a project I’m working on right now. Thanks for the link!!:applause:

What’s band mapper do that UV spider doesn’t?

Per UV Spider, did you try unweld/merge? That should make the points editable (at least with 7.5c – I’m not sure even that works with 7.5b). It is labor-intensive, but does help to unwind a mesh which just doesn’t map well to the standard projections.

The only problem I’ve had with UV Spider in 7.5c (Win) is some instability (crashes), but don’t know whether there was something specific about the context in which I was using it that might have triggered that.
