UV and displacement map

Hey guys,

I have 2 questions to ask :

First,
I am just starting texturing a model and it has split meshes.
I would like to know how to get a single proper UV map for that model.
I could combine the meshes but I want to be able to work with each part of the model separately. And right now the UV looks messed up. (see below) How do i fix it?

Second:
I want to sculpt using a displacement map, is it possible to do so with multiple meshes?

create clean uvs in maya or max for each single object…
and apply in mud unique materials…

or combine it to a single object and use uv tiles…
move the uvs outside the 0-1 space…
mud will create a new texture for each tile…
