Using Wii tracking to create a true 3d experience?

I found this the other day and it blew me away just thinking of what this could be used for. My first thoughts were Maya?! but was also thinking it would be awesome with any computer interaction. So knowing nothing about how to incorporate this technology into maya or other i thought i would post to see if anyone could work some magic.

Unless you intend to develop against or beside that, and you’re looking for advice, or you’re looking to enable somebody else to do so, this might not be the most appropriate forum.
Fishing (not in a bad way) for tools or plugin development and logging requests to developers isn’t really what this place is meant for

If you’re a developer yourself, or intend to become one and use this is as a personal project to start or something on those lines, then feel free to ignore wholesale the above paragraphs.

yes it was intended for developers that might know how to get it going but only because i dont have the developing skills myself. I am a little confused why this isnt the place to post this topic, but by all means point me in the direction where this would be more appropriate. I just want to see it working and in my mind someone with development skills might see this and run with it.

The reason for that was that if the forum was to cater to people without development skills, or at least the intention to acquire them, it would quickly become swamped with people posting great ideas (no sarcasm implied), which are abundant, and very little to do with how to develop them.

I can assure you programmers are just as curious and outward looking as artists are, a forum catering specifically to the category, on a board with a much broader audience, is not where we want the food for thought to be posted unless it has an explicit link with actual implementation or at the very least design elements.

As interesting as the thing is (and it’s years old by now), if that’s let in, then so should be the many great ideas that people have for plugins they can’t develop themselves.
This is akin to somebody with no artistic skills or talent going into the WIP or finished pieces gallery and going: “guys, I’ve got an awesome idea for a piece with JFK riding a giant chimera and shooting lasers from his eyes”.

I’m sure we can all agree that a conspiracy theorized dead president riding a mythical creature decimating terrorists with high energy beams coming out of his eyes would be one of the greatest pieces of art ever produced, but we let the artists come up with what they think is worth investing their time on in there.

Similarly: we intend this place for the programmers, and aspiring programmers, to post and discuss their efforts in here, not for other people to give them such inspiration. GD, news and other similar places are better suited to that, or even better, none of those and we can all read gizmodo, slashdot and engadget on our own time and decide what is interesting or not

If you don’t have the dev skills, but intend to acquire them, and that’s why you posted, then again, all good.
If you aren’t into that, don’t intend to put any considerable effort into it in the near future, nor are affiliated to a group that does, then I’m afraid this isn’t the place, in the same way that the gallery isn’t the place for people with a script and a treatment to get their animatics done to see whether they would look cool or not
