So I have this character I’m creating that needs to have smoke coming from their body. This is simple, except I also need that smoke to follow or take certain shapes. Like, say, i need it to have the shape of an arm or follow an arm in a way that doesn’t leave much of the arm visible. I need very thick, black smoke to almost mimic a body , essentially. Any way i can achieve this without plugins?
Use PFlow to create smoke that follows specific shapes?

Well, it won´t look as good as real smoke, but you can experiment with shape facing op. Put a plane in there with opacity mapped footage of smoke, either static or even better moving and then just build your Pflow with all the things you need. Find target and lock bond will be your friends.
But yeah, its gonna look cheap by todays standards… Just get Phoenix FD…
