Robert, this was interesting,… but it is basically meaningless. There are many specialized majors within the fine art gambit such as: 2d and 3d animation, sculpture, glass, textiles, graphic design, video, painting, illustration, print making etc.

For example, I have seen Columbia’s offerings for fine art. Although they seem to have some strong painters, I wouldn’t recommend it for most of the majors noted above. Some of the schools such as RISD have limited grad programs or none in some of these areas such as animation.
