Software: 3ds max

I still have a lot of work on the spaceship. Have to make the command center in the front. Some defense systems. And then it’s off to texturing.

Ok… Please send me any feedbacks you want… I really need them… still don’t know what I don’t like.

One thing is THE CODEC !!! it takes away all the contrast…

ok… now that the second has no resemblance to the first scene i’ve made, ill have to redo one of them… or both… :frowning:

#25

Start to look great!Keep going!:buttrock: :buttrock: :buttrock: :buttrock: :buttrock:

#26

Awesome work! Bafta.

#27

The overall quality is very good. The thing is these planets look very small like balls, you could fix perspective / size to make them more “overwhelming” and spectacular. Rest is perfect

Thanks guys.

fgdf: this idea could work, i’ll try… thx again.

#29

yeah really cool job, i really like the final render

I’m agree with fgdf though, i think you can easily fix the scale problem by scaling the main planet to fill ± 50/60% of the background, and get the moons a bit smaller and more blurry (we shouldn’t see relief on it)

You should maybe use a bigger focal lenght (for this scene only), to enhance perspectives

#30

First… I’ll finish the next scene that i’ve started working on, so that i won’t fell the dedline pressure. Then i’ll start making adjustments until every body is happy

#31

I would add an atmosphere around the planet, unless of course, it’s uninhabitable:) I like everything else, so keep going, look forward to seeing more.

#32

I’ll work on it, thanks

#33

Looking good, but planet is too bumpy, work on atmosphere more. Space ship looks very good, so keep on !

#34

So far… need to make tha planets a little bigger and put some atmosphere on the planet. I’ll work on it as soon as i finish my next scene.
Thanks!

#35

Well… it seems that i might switch to team :frowning:

Hey man,

sorry for not posting any sooner (kind of sick for a little while and i always wait to do stuff)

anyway,
the render is really starting to look great. My only concern is this:
i think the 3 visible planet seems to be way too close to one another. Putting more distance would create the illusion of a much bigger space and then it would have some more spectacle.
Second i believe there is a glow coming from the closest planet but it’s more like a glow then it should be a fog-looking atmosphere. And at the sides it should look much denser. Also the same glow on the furthest planet look kind of too far spread.

just one little detail
the furthes planet seems the be lit by the sun that we see in this image. But the others and the ship seems to have a secondary light source :argh:

don’t forget in space there is no light bounce and no ambient light

cheers and waiting to see more

The 1st part, your absolute right: the planets look to close to one another and the fog shoud be a little denser.

The 2nd part.
Every element has it’s own light sources (ship, main planet and the 2 moons). I did this so that i could get the look that i was hoping for. It’s not 100% natural but you get a better looking scene (that’s my way of thinking)

About the light bounce… i have a question for you… way does the moon project light at night? :stuck_out_tongue:

Sorry if i didn’t agree on every aspect with you, but thanks for those that i do agree.
Keep it up, and hope you post me more comments if you see something wrong
