My concept of the alien is very human like. The reason is because the planet’s atmosphere is very Earth-like. The skin pigment is blue with unique black lines (also helping them distinguish from one another).

Ok… so I have my “full story” figured out. This helps me to make some boundaries about the trailer. It sounds like this:
In the year 2230 a spaceship leaves Earth with 200 members aboard on an expedition to explore the Universe and find a planet that could be home for human life.
By now, Mars was hosting 2 mil people, we had built a huge observatory and many science bases on the Moon. We had invented the laser gun and our long term project is to make an atmosphere on the satelite Europe (one of the moons of Jupiter).
The mission is thought to be suicidal by many. The spaceship has an unknown target, it’s build to host a maximum of 400 people, and it has resources for about 100 years. Everybody on the ship knows that they won’t be coming back, and that they will be lost in space.
By the year 2281 they find a planet that looks very much like Earth.
It has an Earth-like atmosphere and it already has life on it. It’s about the size of Earth, equatorial radius of 5,950 km, a surface gravity of 9.2 and a medium temp between 30-40 degrees Celsius. It’s much closer to the sun and it has 3 small moons.
They encounter the Naom Rasa there, and they start to cooperate.
By the year 2350 the humans have shared all the knowledge they had with the Naom Rasa, and received knowlege in return.
This was the only specie that established communication with them. They look very human like. Their skin is natural blue with black spots/lines that helps them to distinguish from each another. They multiply through eggs, usually live about 50 to 70 years, and reach the maturity at 12 years. Theyre highly evolved sense of hearing and emitting sounds had allowed to establish verbal communication with the human race and there perception helped them learn to speak human languages.
The Naom Rasa doesn’t use electricity or fire. The planet’s unique substance is found in every form of foliage and about 50 ft under the suface of the planet. It’s a glowing blue substance, that can heat to over 4000 degree Celsius when in contact with air or water. It takes about 50 sec to get to that temp (15 if in contact with water) and stays like that for 15 days before it trasforms in a form of metal, like steel but not as durable over time.
The Naoms uses that enegry to power almost everything and the same substance to fabric weapons and other utilities. The humans learned from the Naom Rasa how to cut trees and build shelter. They also learn how to manipulate that form of metal.
Five generations have past since they left Earth, and there aren’t many cultural resamblance left. The human race had a total population of 384 by the year 2380. All of them living in the City they’ve named Armstrong.
Also they started harvesting vegetables found on their ship, because there were no digestible plants on the planet. All forms of life were carnivores.The same substance is found under the surface of the planet, and when it rains it makes the soil warmer. Thus all the species are more or less reptilian. And all multiply through eggs.
The humans and the Naoms don’t live side by side… their way of life are incompatible. But they are at peace with one another and gather councils once in a while.
In the year 2381 the Naom Rasa suddenly decided to start a war against the humans, for no apperent reason. A war that is already won by them.

Nice story…pretty deep and got me thinking. Sounds like you have a few directions you could go with that, it will be interesting to see which way you choose. I like your Naom Rasa you got going there as well.

Ok… my computer has finaly eaten all my RAM… so this is what I’ve done so far for my “alien planet’s outdoor” scene right before my max crashes without any hope of life 
Tomorrow I’ll have to run to the store and buy as much RAM as I can.
After that I hope I could go on… Wish me luck

Sorry to hear about your RAM. I really like those “mushroom trees”. I think the environment could use a little work. Some more details would definitely help…but with the RAM going, that might be a little tough.

I still have a lot of work to do on these scene before I finish… not to mention the mate painting for the background…

Huff… It’s been a long night… I didn’t had time to finish all I had in mind… and I didn’t even start to do the animation of the enviroment…
My computer crashed all the time :(((
After I’ve finally put 4GB of RAM on it, hoping to be able to finish my scene, when I’ve pressed Render I got a GBuffer error…
So… I’ts renderd on layers depending on the Z Depth
Total polygons… 6.000.000+ per layer :(((((((((((

U need to work on the soil alot more, and the front line plant still looks like plastic. Other than that, don’t spoil the rest :wise:

It’s coming together nicely. I really like the direction it’s going. It’ll be interesting to see how your Naom Rasa fits into this scene. Nice work man!!!

I know i’m spoiling it, but here it goes…
The trailer’s soryboard sound’s like this:
We see a guy holding another men in his arms talking about “how they came to our planet”. The camera sees them from behind of the man alive. So we don’t see any faces.
We see a spaceship comming to a planet that looks like Earth.
3 humans meet 3 aliens, but we don’t see any faces.
We see again the guy holding another guy but now the camera is much closer. We still can’t see any faces. He talks about how the war caught everyone by surprize.
We see a human city.
The war between the species (Naom and Humans) starts. The Earth’s people are caught by surprize. Most of them die in the first strike. Among them there is this kid that looses his mother but survies the atack. He runs in the jungle crying where he meets this Naom women that is dying. She has a baby rapted in a form of foliage and gives it to the kid telling him with her last breath to take care of her son.
We get back to the first scene and now the camera reveals the guy’s face. He is a Naom Rasa man, the little alien kid saved by the human boy. They are now 2 adults (the kid is now 18 years and the Naom boy is now 12). And we find out that the men he’s holding is his so cold “brother” (the boy that saved him); hes dead. The Naom says this: “for my kind he was an alien, but for me he was my brother”.
We see a bunch of highlights of how these two brothers fight both Naom people and Human people, along with many alien creatures.
In the end we see the Earth man jumping of a bridge that is collapsing and stretching his arm to grab something. And in the last shot we see 2 hands holding together: a blue Naom Rasa hand and a human had. On top of that comes the logo.
The jungle scene is almost finish. Now i’m concentrating on the city scene.
