Thanks for checking out our team’s entry thread. Here’s a partial outline for our short’s story. I’m not putting the whole thing here right now, because I don’t want to spoil how the final short plays out. We’ll all be looking forward to your feedback/criticism. Our team consists of:

[Opening title]

[Establishing shots]: Earth in decay, world landmark in ruin

Narrator gives backstory about how Earth is a wasteland from pollution and overpopulation. The climate has been changed, and there are no more natural resources to sustain life

(Shows spaceship leaving Earth, arriving at new planet)

Narrator explains that the Earthlings found a new planet, which they named Persephone and was inhabited by meek quadripedic creatures they called the Hephaesti, named after Hephaestus due to their skill in creating nice things. The two races coexisted peacefully for a while

[Jump forward about 30 years; shot of protagonist walking down the street]

Narrator (protagonist): “The humans didn’t learn from their mistakes in the past. The Hephaesti have become second class citizens, while the humans continue to exploit them and their planet. It makes me sick.”

[Shots during monologue]: Hephaestus being beaten down by the police, “No Hephaestus Allowed” sign on a door, (some other example of msitreatment/exploitation)

Protagonist continues, “I just don’t think I can take this anymore.”
