Hello all,

I’m really looking forward to participating in this contest and I can’t wait to see what everyone comes up with for this theme.

My own project is going to be a short film roughly 3 minutes long. It follows the last ever human in existence as he lies in his death bed, about to die from old age. The aliens in the film are watching over him as he takes his last breaths. There will be a small vision sequence aswell just before he dies.

The screenplay is finished and I should hopefully be able to have some storyboards up soon.

Made a start on the modeling for the last man character.

Put some more work in to the model and made a start on the texturing. Need to work on the shader still, no spec map or anything yet, need to add some eyelashes and fix the eyes. Need to decide on the kind of hair he may have. Lots of work to do! The body is also mostly finished, will put up some shots later.

great texturing… but u said the guy is going 2 die, so make him little bit unhealthy…ur lighting sense is superb.All the best.

The last shot of the untextured model only had a few hours into it so heres a newer one. Still needs some work!

  [b]crichard: [/b]Thanks very much! I agree he definately needs to look more sick. There is a small section of the short where we see him looking more normal/healthy though so I textured him this way first to keep things simple. :)

Did a small amount of detailing in zbrush, it’s my first time using the software and really loving it so far! I would really like to put some more detail in to it but the deadline is getting closer so I might have to call it done for the moment and move on to creating the alien.

Sorry for the lack of updates recently. I’ve been mostly working on getting as many shots set up as I can so that all I have to do is place the characters in and animate. It’s getting pretty close now. This is a hallway that will be coming in towards the end of the short. Needs a little more detail I think, maybe some flowers in the vase and a few smaller features. The characters are also getting pretty close now, the old man is pretty much finished I just need to build an outfit for him to wear. The alien is about 50% done at the moment, not quite ready to show yet!

The lighting set up for your hallway is good, very nice and clean render.
