Hi Torsten,

nice concept, really original, and the beginning of the modeling is really cool!
My only crits about the worker, just for me but it seems that the hand are a little too small… i dunno… anyway good luck for challenge!!

Peace!

Robby: Thank you very much. Looking forward to see your entry.

Mark: Thanks, buddy.

Simone: Thanks for your comment. I will take a look at his hands once more.

Fernando: Thank you very much. Nice to see you here my friend.

Unfortunately I am running out of time. I don’t have any time during the week to work on my entry and only a few hours during weekend. So I won’t be able to finish my entry in the way I had it in mind when it all begins. But I will definitely submit a “final” version and I really hope it will be sufficient for getting me this non commercial XSI licence.
I will keep on working on this image but first I want to finish I project I put on hold for this challenge.

Thanks again for your support.

Here’s a textured version of the glider. I Won’t be able to a more realistic one, maybe I can improve it later in Photoshop a bit.

Wow! That looks fantastic. Excellent work! No crits from me - it looks totally believable

#46

Hey Torsten, really ompresive my friend, you have a incredible touch for machine designs, wooooow and that is superb!! LOve the lighting on it, great!! Maybe some scratches and rusted and dirty material textures on it, but is a minor detail  Again, awesome design and render my friend!! Cheers !!

#47

Mark: Once more. Thank you very much. When ever I will come to Australia I owe you a beer or two.

Fernando: Thanks man. Same to you. Mexico is on our travelling list. :scream:
I have to add Scratches, rust etc. later in PS when time will allow so. I don’t have the time to do a proper UV layout right now.

Here is the construction desk with some textures. This is at 50% resolution. The glider was at 100% (when you click on the image).

I like all the details you are putting into it. Looks really well constructed! Well done! Looking forward to see another upadte with everything together

#50

Michael: Thanks a lot man. I am still waiting for your models to show up.

Torsten

#51

Here’s a WIP of the transporter. The light is a little bright. But I don’t have time to waste with re-render :D.

Again, this is at 50% of the final resolution.

Torsten

#52

Hi Torsten, your transporter is fantastic, good work!!

#53

I remember when I was young and the first Star Wars movie was released. And I sat in my cinema chair and loved seeing the amazing spaceships and machinery and technology from another time/place. That’s pretty much how I feel when I see your updates. I love the new stuff - it’s imaginative but also believable. It is as logical as it is fresh and beautiful. You do it really well. Definitely no crits from me

#55

Robby: Thank you very much. Nice to see you finished your first challenge here on CGTalk. Hope to see you in the next one as well.

Fernando:
Thanks buddy. Hurry up with you entry. I want to see it final.

Mark:
That’s exactly how I felt when I saw the first Star Wars movies too. And I am really glad you feel so, looking at my images. Now please someone tell G.L. to hire me.

FANTASTIC VEHICLE DESIGN M8!!

Shortly after first contact Jason and Kiatube teamed up to realize the idea of opening a bar at the new space port. With the combined power of their two construction companies it didn’t take long till the bar starts to take shape.

#58

Fabio: Thank you very much.

So finally my machine finished the rendering process. Just in time. I was getting a little bit nervous.
I had to use a really bad compression to get the image into the 150 KB limit. So here is a lager version (50% of final resolution) with a better compression:

Final Image (849 KB).

Once again thank you very much for all your support and encouraging words. It was again a great experience and I am looking forward to see you all in the next challenge.

Cheers,

Torsten

Nice image! I like the gliders, they have a very nice design. Glad you could finish it in time!

nice idea i like the way you have the human technoligy (computer) next to the alien technology (hologram) that is a very nice touch.
