That looks really good. When I look at your machines and transport creations I feel like a kid seeing stuff for the first time, because you manage to combine a lot of originality with the sort of engineering sense that makes stuff look so right and logical. That’s a real talent and I admire that

Kory: Thank you very much. That’s a very interesting idea. I would have to change some things which would be out of scale (lamps etc.) but it could work.

Mark: Thank you very much for your kind words.

#25

good luck dude! you rock! :buttrock:

#26

your glider looks really great … are you planning to add some more guns or something like that ? … keep the great work

#27

Tony, Slav, Neville: Thank you very much.

John: Thanks man. There will be no guns in my entry. It’s just a peaceful construction area. No need to attack or defense.

So , I have changed plans a little bit. After Kory’s feedback I first thought about scaling up the glider. But than I recognized that the design wouldn’t really fit to such a huge machine. I would have to change far to much. So I decided to model another vehicle. This time a transporter which delivers all the needed concrete parts. The small gliders than take these parts to the final position.
I will skip the wheel loader due to the limited time and will now start to do the construction area and all the small parts. After that I will have no more excuses to delay the start of the modeling of the characters, which will be the hardest part for me to do.

Thanks once again for your wonderful support.

Wow! That looks fantastic. Really nice design

#30

amazing work mate keep going

#31

Mark, Tony: Thank you very much.

I have started to model the construction area. It will be kept quite simply. I am thinking of a desert like landscape where I may add some bushes.

You are the master of machines Thorsten. I remember your buggy from the Strange Behavior Challenge was great too. Good luck!

#33

Hi, Torsten. Good to see you here again. You’ve got some great stuff going on and I’m watching. All the best!

#34

I’m very much looking forward to seeing this come together. As Vatrobot said, you’re the master of machines. The only thought I can offer is about the composition. At the moment it appears (to me, anyway) to be divided into 4 quarters, without any particular quarter having more prominence. I know that will change when the key characters are put in the foreground, but perhaps the angle of the flying craft could change slightly to add a bit of variation/interest. I’m guessing a bit of distance haze will also show off the size of main flying craft, and that will obviously enhance the sense of depth and scale in the scene.

But like I said, your designs and machines are a real joy to look at and marvel over. I’m always watching out for your updates

#35

Vatroslav, Paul: Thank you very much.

Mark: Thanks, I may change camera angle and the position of the flying craft when everything is in the scene. distance haze is also on my schedule and the scale will be more obvious as soon as I put in some humans and aliens plus the small stuff like the load from the transporter. Anyway thank you very much for your support it’s always much appreciated.

So here’s a first WIP of the alien.

#37

And here’s the head.

#38

Here’s a WIP of the human worker.

I will now start to make the UV layout for all the models and than start the texturing. If there is still some time left, I will revise the characters as I am not 100% satisfied with the results so far, but time is slipping through my fingers at the moment.

#39

Torsten, you have done a great job. Good luck with your concept.

Yep, that alien sure looks alien. Great work buddy. Those little spiny things on the back of its head are superb
