Hi everyone! And good luck to you all!! Here is the first of my sketches, it’s a concept of an alien court putting a representative of the human race on trial…

Another concept sketch, totally different this time, with a bit of humor added: Imagine a universe where, after much fighting and planetary warfare, humans and aliens have come to peace. Every 15 years or so, when the huge black hole in the center of our galaxy makes a full turn around itself, the biggest sports event of the universe begins: the pan universal olympic games!! This is the final of freestyle wrestling between the human champion and the alien champion from somewhere out there. The referee is also an alien, an incorporeal one! I like this one the most but I would really like to hear some comments

I’m working on the wrestling match idea now, and after a few sketches of the human wrestler character, I ended up with this. I tried to emphasize on the strain he puts into his grapple, while feeling a little confused by the alien’s anatomy…

I love this idea and you should persue it. It could be just another fight unless they’re wearing the headgear and the singlets so be careful how you treat this one. Love the facial expression!

I started to work on the pose the 2 wrestlers will have and tried to work on the overall composition… I’m not so happy with it but I guess that’s what this is all about: exposing yourself to fellow artists right??? Anyway I’m pretty sure things are gonna come into place eventually… I think I’ve got a few cool ideas about the surroundings though… the wrestling finals will be taking place in a space-park where there will be alien flora from all over the universe. Oh!! I also made a couple of alien character sketches… going to post them tomorrow because it’s 3.12 am right now here in Greece and I’ve got to get some sleep…

im definately looking forward to how this will come out! i love the concept! his face is perfect! exactly what you described, i know the rest is just a sketch but the strain in the neck muscles is going to be very important to emphasize the strain with an expression like that ;D i look forward to seeing this progress, wonderful job so far :smiley:

This definitely looks like a cool one. It looks very olympic…perhaps a more bloodsport/MMA look would be cool to try out.

hello again people and thanks for all the comments and interest.I see a lot of wonderful digital art here. These are some drawings on the alien character for my wrestling concept. I finally managed to find the energy to scan and edit them together…

This is the basis for the stadium where the wrestling finals will be taking place.
I used 3ds Max, created a geosphere, tessalated it in maximum tension then meshsmoothed it,shaded it with a metal shader and rendered it in wire mode. I played around with levels and filters in photoshop and there you have it. I like the metal-organic feel it has.

Ok this is the final composition of my piece, the world wrestling finals. The alien design just emerged from the overall work. This snapshot of the wrestling match shows the moment where the alien turns the tables on the human, using his psychometabolic ability, a result of further uplift from mere inteligence to supernatural status. I would really like to hear your comments.

So finally I started working on the actual thing… I changed the composition a bit since it seemed a bit too spread out and started working on the poses and faces of the two basic characters. I think the story is staring to show…

nice work there theo and its hilarious! it looks like the human could easily win this match.
if you add some audience or crowd watching and cheering it will definitely compliment the match. good luck to you.

thepineman: Thanks for the kind words man and good luck to you. - It will not be that easy for the human to win since the alien dude can change shape at will. The alien race is called Sh’qkran and they have kept their supernatural ability secret. This picture shows the first time ever they make it known to the world… - The background will be full of people cheering and watching the match and also the president of the universal federation will be watching from the VIP balcony as you can see on the right…

At last I managed to find some time to work on my uplift challenge image!!!
I have started to work on the alien and human wrestler faces and did some detail work. I’m working in grayscale mode and will add the colors later on a separate layer. This way I can have more control over the image and make all the changes I want. As always comments and crit are welcome
