Hi Gonçalo, nice to see you too, I have a busy week, as soon as I’m free from work, I’ll start with some ideas. Good luck my friend.
Ok, here’s my first sketch, late enough, only a doodle for the moment, not much to see at this stage. There are two characters struggling, a human soldier and an alien one. In fact I think one of the main ways of communication for human beings is war. Nobody said the relation between humans and aliens should be a peaceful one.
I suppose I’ll have to hurry, I’n having too much work these days, but I’m finally in. I see fantastic work around by the way.
I’m refining the concept. Instead of war between humans and aliens, let’s take it to simple competition. Still have to define the costumes and background. The alien is too simple still. Once I begin to add colour things will change.
cool staff. this alien reminds me of a character of the Estela Comic book series. nice expressions on the faces.
I like your concept-sketch really much. You focus the attention in a cool confrontation between humans and aliens and you have a lot of space for placing lots of details. I feel like you are giving a lot of importance to the concept which is what I think as the most important one in the image.
Good luck Ill keep an eye on this thread.
great idea! you can play a lot with emotions on their faces, especially with alien. this is unusual, alien face with emotions…?
good luck man!
Thanks for your feedback guys. Here is a more refined pencil version of the sketch. I want the human wear a spacesuit and the alien some kind of primitive costume, dont know yet. I have to correct the humans left arm too as it is not proportioned with the other one. I have just realized it as I posted tue image. I’ll fix that.
Yeah. The last one looks better. In my opinion you did really well quitting the pistol from the human’s hand because he is not going to shot if he looses isn’t he? xd. Also the pistol was like giving the idea of a bloody future and not a safe exciting funny confrontation concept I got looking the rest of the picture. Keep the good work, I will be looking forward the background.
it seems that the alien is stronger than the human. is that the way you thought?
if so, i like … it gives the idea of a big effort from the human side to try to win this simple competition!
pretty nice drawing!

Fun idea, Ramón! It’s funny, just yesterday a friend was suggesting the idea of a thumb-wrestling match as a good idea for the Uplift Challenge. (Don’t worry, it wasn’t someone entering, they were just saying I should do that, but I’m happy with my own idea.) Anyhow, this is better. It feels like there’s still room for you to bulk up the size of their hands and wrists: they feel a little wimpy compared to the two tough men themselves. But great design so far, keep it coming!

muy bello el sketch. suerte en el concurso . ya me imagino una luz de lampara tipo el padrino alumbrando eso!
Hi, I’ve done a quick colouring to establish my palette. Truth is I’m eager to start painting, but I should define the alien costume and right arm first.
AresDeUbaidis, thanks, glad you like it. At first I liket the idea of implicit violence the pistol showed, but I think now as you pointed that the concept of competition between races is better defined without it.
laurentino, I didn’t intend it to be so, but why not?, In fact nothing is decided yet and I have to tweak it enormously yet.
DeeVad, Nice to see you too my friend.
Walrus, Thanks a lot Mike. I’m grateful you didn´t decide on the thumb wrestling contest, else I would be doomed.
chilombiano, Gracias compadre.
