Allright Neville, what 3D software are you using? That looks to 3 dimensional.LOL You work pops off the page. Very elegant, and sophisticated piece. I love it.
Brad
this stage is complete … next will be the specular pass, fix ups, add ons …
for the update : i’ve added more subtle details to her face
many thanks to all of you for your kind suggestions and encouragement!
will be back with something new …
take care everyone …
cheers!
wow! I really like this image! It is subtle and powerful. Very intimate. Well done, looking forward to seeing the finished piece!
Neville, your technics are awesome!!! Just can’t imagine how you can achieve this kind of rendering using only 2D tools. Great subtle details and facial expression on the girl.
I can see and feel this story unfolding itself slowly…She frowns gently, yet she is smiling…melancholic for the not far separation, yet happy for this last moment of tenderness…she is not asking for more as she knows that she will hold this memory within for her life time…
You are not only talented technically, but also a great story teller! :applause:

i thank you all so very much! again i’ll mention that, major credit goes to the single reference image i found that had the emotional connection i was looking for, the idea of using the reference image and adding extra details came from, none other than … expose 5 coverart done by Jussi Lehtiniemi …
http://kryptoreye.cgsociety.org/gallery/421347/
… i was totally amazed how he binded the actual image painting with the forest itself, all so seamlessly … that gave me headstart with this piece …
the story had to be thought of even with the reference image in order to take it to a different route altogether …
another challenge was to paint the entire image at 3k resolution while the actual size was 500 pixels in height
… making the minute details a little hard to get around with
…
all in all … it was fun and frustating the same time in order to match the lighting with the rest of the piece … but i’m happy no matter what
stay tuned for next updates my friends!
god bless ya all!
OH MY!!! Ok…what kind of comment can i leave here? im surprised only surprised…more and more…sprendid…splendid work…can wait to see the finished work!!!

hey guys! … me back with some more details, this time for her alien lover and with a specular shading process … a pretty quick one for a start, from there i’ll get onto the rest of the image …
hope the screenshots are self explanatory
cheers everyone!

varma ~ thanks a million dude! hehe … it’s nice to know that you feel its 3d

scala ~ hey buddy!
… me really have no clue which movie bro
… the reference image i found was a photograph of a couple … do you have a screenshot of any scene of that movie?
Neville, seeing your progress is pure enjoyment! One thing, be careful about the specular highlights, concentrate them in the focal point of the image to make the most out of them. It’s a great chance to add subtle texturing too.
This already is a master piece, can’t wait to see what you’ll do next!
ahhh ha ha here you are, I lost your thread for a while
this is coming along beautifully and so glad to see you post steps of your process. I can’t wait for colors, COLORS :bounce::bounce::bounce:
