Uplift Universe - Image Entry: neville dsouza
Hey Neville, love this great image my dear magician!
The light on it is simply superb, revealing in an incredible way, the shapes and details of your characters. Love the expressions, and the feeling on it, great!! A beautiful and powerful image for sure!! And I still feel like a child to enjoy the beautiful magic of the magician. Thanks for that my dear friend!
It was an honour and a pleasure to have shared this challenge with you! :buttrock: All the best!! and God bless you my friend! Cheers!!
i-c-m ~ thanks a lot dude!
i was pretty doubtful myself, wondering how to get the alien look but to still maintain a little ‘human’ in him … but, with all the help i got from the artists here, it was worth it! cheers dude!
OKMER ~ heyyyyyyyy BRROoooooooooo!! :bounce: damn damn damn … me sure missed you a lot man!!
i’m very happy to see you here!! hope and really hope to see you in the next challenge!! god bless ya bro! all my love to you and your family!
vmulligan ~ many thanks dude! it was bit of risk to go with a slightly desaturated sepia tone for the image, but somehow with a the ‘dusty’ look, it blended quite well … thanks again for dropping by dude! god bless!
MartinNielsen ~ thanks bro!

Neville congrats on this wonderful piece. Reading through the brief again it really does answer everything in a very elegant way. Is this the winner?
(maybe it could have had a little speckle more colour but I am just nit picking) Well done ![]()
Hi Neville,
you have a great talent, Love your composition and emotions.
to be honest your image looks completly 3d.
I think you have got exactly what u had in your mind…Best of luck to you.
another amazing illustration Neville! your mastery of rendering volume is unsurpassed! I could only dream of being that good. good luck with the competition.
Paul
WOW???, thats 2D not 3D???:surprised very cool art, i love your concept very much, so beautifull
Hey Neville, incredible style and very orginal painting. Excellent final
! Good luck mate ![]()
Cheers…
Hey buddy,
Nice work
Great modeling and I like the overall appeal of your work especially the grain in the image with the moody lighting. Its cool…
And I am not working anywhere. I like travelling, so keep moving here and there
like nomads… people like me are also called freelancers :P, this way I get to travel and work on 3d…its fun.
Currently I am in Delhi
You say, where do you work??
Cheers,
Good Luck
(sigh… this is the third time I write this coz of connection error…)
Gorgeous story and gorgeous artwork! The tears got me, as does the softness of their skin. No color? aww… but monochrome works well for “dying moments” anyway…
What do you mean mine is one of your favs? Yours is one of my favs!
u56237z | thanks a lot dude!
RupertD | hey bro! thanks a million for visiting once again … i’m very glad you like it! … although a risk taken regarding the single color tone … something i never did before with an entry …
thanks again for dropping by! you rock dude!
bkravi | thanks a lot dude! … there was something else in mind but the emotion i wanted everyone to feel was there all along … just the image required a different picturisation altogether …
harmonix | many thanks buddy! … as i mentioned in my portfolio, everything was already chalked out for me … in some way. but i had to make sure that the extra elements i was going to use had to match the entire scene perfectly …
JoPu | thanks dude!
ahmetekn | great to see you dude! thanks a bunch!
Pearlyking | thanks mate!
amitkhanna | hey amit! … i do hope we meet one day! i’m working for krayon pictures … at hinjewadi … pune …
thanks for dropping by dude! … i’m happy you like the film grain … credit goes to the link i found that explained how to add film grain to different selection ranges … i’ll be posting that link pretty soon … as for the image, no 3d modeling was involved … all photoshop
wishing you the very best of luck! ![]()
Pegahoul | glad to see you once again my friend!
yep, i wanted an old look for the entire piece with a single tone … although there are many shades n tints … i wanted to choose the one that was too saturated or less saturated … hope it worked :S … thanks again for visiting! good luck with the judging! ![]()
You’re welcome!
A lot of time consuming projects lately so I haven’t been able to spend as much time here…
cheers,
Gert
IS difficult…is very very difficult write something about an image that hits me frome the very first line to the unbelivable final.
Is difficult to find a new way to express the absolute ammiration i have to the artist who made this piece of TRUE art… art in many ways…from the idea and the “extremely difficult to achieve” delicate mood that he given to scene…from the elegant colour palette,to the exquisite technique he perform till the end.
so…i leave myself of what was my first feeling about this work…looking at image in deep silence…wordelss…in admiration
PS: FORGIVE MY SPAGHETTI ENGLISH…
There are so many great images in this contest that I didn’t see it until now. But like they say, you want to save the best for last! This is a very impressive piece!
