Neville…Its interesting to see you catch a few artists because you used monochrome only…have to say there sure is no crime in doing so…it gorgeous. Subtle little nuances in detail and tone gives this an almost entirely photorealistic appeal.

my utmost thanks once again for helping me take this piece to a new level … many thanks especially to Jerome for suggesting skin details and a subtle texture for the alien … that combined with a noise overlay … which by the way was very difficult to achieve by my own, coz when i did play around with my own noise values, it didn’t work out at all, so i did a little research on getting the right kind of noise without making it look too digital and finally i found a pdf which helped a lot in getting the noise values correctly by selecting the color range of that image … it worked perfectly! although i did lower the master opacity value in order to balance the image and noise treatment …
i’ll be posting the link soon … so stay tuned for that … plus a little walkthrough for this piece … :stuck_out_tongue: … it’ll take a while, but i’ll surely get it done :wink: …

everything was already there for me, the basic lighting, shadows, the mood … major things that i had to change/paint was the alien lover with different facial features and other alien details e.g the fins and texture …

Very, very nice. I love the simplicity and power of the image. The lighting is terrific, too – it really makes it seem like an intimate moment. I find it interesting that you kept the image black-and-white – though it gives it an interesting, nostalgic feel. I like it.
