Uplift Universe - Image Entry: Gianluca Rondoni

About skin textures, I’d play more with internal lights. Try to put some little light, maybe green or blue, from the bottom to the top of the cockpit, light those lights that film actors have most of the time inside their spacesuits. Then you could raise a little bit the glass refraction.
Also you could model the finns on your machine so they have a more dolphinish look; if mothernature decided to give them finns like them maybe she’s right… You could make the tail a little bitt longer. About the second little light on the left which is coming from above throught the water, I’d move it outside the camera field. You say you want 2 suns but you are offering and earth like environment. nothing is telling us this is not earth. So the 2 lights appear as a mistake when you set up your lights in your 3d software…

How think about?

Very nice! congratz on finishing this
on a side note: that fish in the bottom is actually a Neon Tetra, which is a 2cm-long fresh water fish. But since this is a fictional image then who cares huh?

Cheers

#84

WOW! …but this is a Plutonian Neon Tetra!! Just kidding of course… I really liked its color much and I am not too worried reality…
Thanks!

#89

Congrats on your final image  It has such a nice peaceful atmosphere

#90

Great atmosphere in your peice. The only thing that sticks out is the plastic look of the womans face. There’s not alot of variation in her skin tones. Other than that evreything is very cohesive.Awesome work.

#91

Really thanks Linda, peaceful is the right word…

Thanks Brad, I imagined that the atmosphere inside of dolphmech was wet and warm, perhaps the aspect plastic could simulate a slight sweat? …I dont know…

At last I’m here to comment your work (sorry but I’m definitely off in this year season). Now: I love the idea and the realization. Colours and lights are wonderful. The human-mech dolphin is a dream.
DOF is fit too. Good luck in this great competition!
