Puuusshhhhh! I love it. Very funny. I would go with your delivery concept. Awesome!
Good luck
Brad
Hahaha ! I was looking for your first post thumbnail and you’ve already posted a new one! I like the doggie alien, he really has some weird bones, that’s cool!
The second one is good too, it has some great oportunities for dramatic lighthing, any of them could make a great picture.
I’m really glad to see you join the challenge again. I hope you’ll have a great time!!
Hey Brad … thanks for the encouragement! Really nice to hear that =)
Thanks a lot Gabriel … good to see you here too! We will have a great time … that is for sure!
And i don`t know what i want to do … i will explore some ideas … then i decide what to do =)
Hey Filipe, really nice to see you in this challenge my friend!!. Really cool initial concepts, the second one can be a great image
Good luck my friend, and looking forward for more updates! Cheers !!
i did some sketches for the aliens pets.
but i realized that this scene is out of the context … i’ll read something about the Uplift Universe and then i will think in another idea.
Ferx … what a pleasure see you here … thanks for your kind words =)
i couldn’t find your thread … have you started one??? … if so, let me know please! ![]()
Great expressions & characters, the pet alien is great! The human-alien relationship of dog / human (alien-pet/human) works brilliantly at conveying a great emotional connection, -the pet alien expression(s) are really fun, Great! I’ll be watching your work
.
GaeasHerald, joshpurple - thanks a lot guys. I was thinking in another scene, something about The Uplift War, to make something more connected with David Brin’s work, but you made me change my mind. I’ll keep the pet story.
i really don’t know what kind of design i’ll do for this alien pet.
i was thinking in something ugly … a scary visual, something that you look at it and fear it … but actually there is no reason to fear.
what do you think guys??
HI!
I agree with you, the weirdest looking could be the better for the pet, and I’n pretty sure you can make an F-ugly monster look adorable if only you give him a warm doggie stare, you’re going for small eyes in your sketches and that can work too, but maybe bigger eyes would help to better show the pet’s real personality, so you can do the rest of the body as weird and scary as you want and keep the concept clear…
Going real good:thumbsup:
today i started to draw in my lunch time … just to relax.
and i did this! =)
i’m still wondering about this alien but i tried something with bigger eyes … i’ll try that now Gabriel, maybe it works better =)
i found a funny picture of a puppy and i found an inspiration with it. =)
i changed the body’s shape … the other sketch i made looked like a bug! … i decided to make a stronger body.
i didn’t decide about the guy’s face … for now, this is the one!
Hahaha Funny!! And that old strange behaviour idea is awesome! Nice work! Cheers mate ![]()
BrunoCornelsen, joshpurple - thanks a lot guys. but now i started this one with the pet and i think it will be a great challenge to me. I mean, i’m not used to draw or paint creatures like that, and it’s a good opportunity to learn and get some practice with a new thing. =)
i started some lighting!
i’ve never tried this before but i’ll paint in tons of grey first … then i’ll put colors!
hope you like! =)
