Cool idea! I’m also thinking Venus could have some tech stuff on her to mark her out as an alien. Especially the shell could look hi-tech. In your first composition you had a swirling motion with the characters leading the eye around in a really nice way, try not to loose that. Especially the guy on the left of Venus was important, maybe put him back? (One more guy to paint! Arrgh!) Anyway, nice work!

Tagger, thanks. I promise I will keep working on it until the fat lady sings in a few days.
Minnhagen, thank you. I get scared thinking of all the characters that can make this work, but this is the kind of challenge I like. I will keep developing all of them and play around with my final compositing to see what works the best. i will definitely keep in mind your suggestion to watch out for that design. I actually love painting guys because I have a ready model at home who does not mind (read manly grumble) posing for me .
Ok, lots of updates ahead. Back to the wacom.
I am investigating giving venus a slightly more direct look at her hosts rather than the eyes closed look. I started thinking that the eyes lowered look gave her too much of a haughty demeanor, which may not be translated as friendly.
Venus face study 2. I have to now decide which version to go with so I can go forth and paint this stuff already.
