Uplift Universe - Image Entry: Edward Cicka
Ive been working on this since the contest first started, but there have been lots of starts and stop (life keeps getting in the way =) Here is my idea. A human and alien are in a room that has wrap around windows with an off-world background (planet with rings, two suns, etc.). Light is streaming into the room, illuminating work tables, drawing tables, and art supplies, half finished sculptures, etc. It is obvious that this is an art room, perhaps in a school or office. In the foreground is a table with a computer terminal, futuristic keyboard and other control devices, and a holographic rendering pad. The human is sitting at the computer, while the alien is looking over his shoulder, pointing out ideas or in general conversation. It is obvious that they are working on a common project, the results of which are shown on the terminal and are being displayed as a holograph. The image on the computer, and the holograph, is a mirror of the image as seen from the camera, sort of like an infinity mirror.
