A previs of one of the possible aliens I could use for the image. This guy has huge, periodically shed compound eyes covering most of his cephalothorax. The small antennae near the eyes act as windscreen wipers, clearing debris and water from the many lenses.

The mouth parts have evolved into hands, which in later designs i might need to move foward on the body to make tool use easier.
