Thank you so much Lyn!
still got a long way to go… But, wait till you see the finale! you’ll love it
untitled work - stage01
Hello Linda
than you so much for the reference images :P… I will surely do the needful and reduce the fine lines… Changes will be implemented in the next update
Cheers! And Thanks again
To me the photo reference on the lips looks about the same as you have it. I also think you would want them to pop out. Because I think once you get the headdress going. The lips are going to need it to compete with the colors.
rownd ~ right on Jim!
… that’s when the lipstick color will add to the entire look …
however, i do have the test makeup layer, but i haven’t revealed it yet …
feels like I’m testing everyone’s patience by going steady with this wip
… ironically … i’m getting a little impatient myself
… coz believe me jim … the concept sketch is really nothing compared to the overlay test that was done right from the start, so that i know what my goal is …
this color palette is something very different and pretty “splashy” …
can’t wait to get to the makesup stage …
but yes… checkmarking with what you said … i’ll surely try and bring those lips out …
cheers mate!
I don’t know if you’re interested in makeup break downs and knowing how the MUA applied it but I find things like this useful on drawing female faces that are suppose to be extremely attractive. This makeup artist has tutorials where to apply certain products to enhance the skin to give more life and 3d appearance and all sorts of real life photoshop tips.
linda … god bless your soul
thank you once again for the makeup breakdown … this will be an added advantage! …
i love to do “photoshop makeup”
… bringing out a different personality …
if you want, you can find me on facebook : nwiz22@yahoo.com and check out my album “showstopping the studio people” …
i would say 70% of my artworks pay tribute to beautiful women …
my most favorite show to date is and always will be “covershot”
http://tlc.discovery.com/fansites/covershot/slideshow/slideshow1.html
… the before and after shots are just brilliant!
it’s truly amazing to see how everyday working women are transformed to breathtaking divas … it just goes to say that beauty lies deep within and shouldn’t be underestimated …
even the most average looking girl can look insanely beautiful …
thank you once again for reference link … it’ll help me a lot!
god bless!
a late … but one of the many critical updates
…
i finally got working on the eye …
[ more eye nit picks will be dealt with later on
]

2k …

i got so carried away … that i totally forgot to make a few changes with the upper lip … so now …top priority … it’ll be implemented in the next update …
and also, the eye stages
cheers people!
back with the left eye complete :D/ , along with the suggested changes for the upper lip …

and the paint sequence
[ please note : weird display of sequence, i suggest saving the animated gif and viewing it in photoshop ]

the main foundation is getting close …
it feels good that the important parts are complete …
i can now get onto the other details …
SuperAwesome work as usual … love the details …
10000/100 for the eye and lips
Hope to see some more updates soon
hey guys …
been quite a while since my last update …
so back to the painting! =)
as you can see, i’m adding details to the skin and fingers … this is going to be very tedious and will take sometime to finish … but once it’s complete … i’ll be by own to take on the head dress and the rest of the elements …

parag8386 ~ parag bhai
thanks a lot re >:D< will be back with more updates!
stay tuned!
clairebear182 ~ thank you so much
even i can’t wait to start the head dress … getting a little irritated seeing the same ol thing every, now and then

:applause: amazing. i am interested. Why did you start her eyes?
I guess, people usualy start character’s eyes. when i don’t make eyes, i get bored. :arteest:
This all reminds me of the old days, when I used an airbrush, this is very reminiscent of teh “how to” articles in the airbrush magazines, you’re approaching this like they would. It’s not a bad thing, it’s just there are more efficient ways to accomplish this with the digitals tools out there - but if you enjoy it, it’s all good.
You may have an issue with deadlines, though, lol, this is taking a while!
Kosala | thanks a lot mate
fatihAkin | thank you =) actually i had to start off with the her eyes so that it would help with the flow of painting … else i would be looking at her blank face all along … while still working on the other elements … thinking / pondering ; i have to start the eyes … will it turn out well … what i miss out on something … all that …
BillyWJ | thank you so much dude
… ironically … many of my friends more or less say the same thing … that why don’t i use the wacom … or why don’t i use the airbrush tool … ; but somehow . i manage to get my work done by going the other way round … best to sum it up ;
i do things the hard way
lol …
yup … totally with you with the update gap … been reaching home late due to work deadlines
but i’ll work it out … somehow … someway …
thanks again for dropping by
hey guys =)
as you can see … i’ve started detailing her hand … still a long way to go, getting more and more tedious o_O
back to work

This is coming along nicely.
There are a couple of minor things that keep yanking my attention.
1-the thin scar-like seam running down the center of the philtrum, between nose and lip. Id erase it and define the outer edges of the philtrum a bit.
2-The sharp point at the top of her foreshortened left nostril looks odd, though it seems to be there in the loRes ref photo. Id use some artistic license and soften/round the area a little. I would also tint the soft white highlights (at the lower part of the iris) yellow-orange. If those highlights are on their own layer, Id make the layer Overlay mode to achieve the tint. The white there looks more like paint, currently.
Looking forward to the next update!
I’m really inspired by your attention to detail in creating your artwork, as well as how much you have learnt!
Quadart ~ many thanks to you mate! =) … i took your suggestions into consideration and made the changes … there’s also additional work on the hand … i think this week i’ll be able to bounce back on the updates … been swamped with work _
CarelessAngel ~ thanks a lot dude
… i’m always trying to explore many things … it’s a really good learning process
so here it is guys …
