Unintended Minecraft Cloud in Arnold

#1

Can Anyone help with this ?

The cloud should not look like this at all !

The cloud was modeled and exported as a vdb from C4D R20 then imported in C4D R19 through Arnold

Looks like the density is too high, and you are seeing the trimmed voxel grid. Try lowering the density, or feeding a ramp into the transparency channel…

Is there any way to view my cloud in viewport ? It’s totaly invisible.

You are using the Arnold volume object, which doesn’t provide much of a preview as I recall. You can also load the VDB into a C4D volume loader object, which does provide a speedy preview in the viewport (and you can mesh it with the volume mesher to get a more solid preview). You can apply Arnold’s volume materials to a C4D volume object, so maybe try that… (but if yoiu are using it disable the volume mesher for rendering)

I can’t believe the situation i’m in …

I don’t have Arnold for R20… That’s why I exported it from R20… Nevermind i’ll export the mesh object.

For anyone wanting to test my cloud on Arnold, please tell me if you have the same issues… in Octane renders correct but Octane does not give me much artistic freedom

If you have Arnold for R19, you should be able to use it in R20 as well… You can download the installer from the solidangle web site…
