Unable to add textures


Hey guys, texturing noob here. I recently downloaded a bunch of unique looking rigs for maya. The rigs are really cool, except when I try to add a simple shader to the geometry, nothing happens.
It seems like the texture is baked onto the rig or something? Here are the default shaders on it.

Any ideas on how to apply a different shader to the rig? :curious:


Have you tried selecting the object and having Hypershade graph the materials on it? That should show you what materials are on it. Probably something you’ve already tried, but figured I’d just mention it. Let us know if you still need help with this.
