Hi all,
I’m moving kinda fast on this. I really liked my idea. Anyway, here’s a wire. Let me know what you think.

PS. This is at 956 tris.

Spiffy! The mesh is nice and clean and the modeling is really nice. I love the buttons. I wish my garbage can had buttons.
Keep at it!
OMG! Your garbage can DOESN’T have buttons?!

Keep the good capsule work, it’s superb for now
Thanks! I’m having trouble deciding if I should make the textre clean, or dirty. I was also wondering about glows. Can I have a material glow, or do I have to fake it. And if I can fake it, can I use a transparency map?
Yeah, I’m gonna try it with the textures. Anyway, here’s a new look at a cut down version of my capsule. I figured I’d cut them down to add more dramatic detail. I’m at 700 tri’s now and you don’t see much of a difference, so I’ll use them where they count.

Needs more diagonal stripes, maybe on the ring around the center. Put something on the little screen for added interest.
Looking great!
I’m done too!
FINAL RENDER:

WIRE RENDER:

COLOR MAP and SPECULAR MAP (yeah, I got a nice result using this map for both.):

BUMP MAP:

And last but not least: 974 triangles
I think you should try to paint some radiosity from the green lights inside onto the outside of the canister, that’ll help it look like it’s glowing, instead of just being really green.
I’d say everything else about it is spot on. Two thumbs up.
Looks good, you should add the glow in your texture. So the light of the green parts spills over to the metal parts.
Maybe add some scrathes on the thing as well.
Thanks Supervlieg, I would change it now, but I’ve already submitted. I’ll just leave it at that and see what happens.
Yeah, I know. Can we make multiple entries? I actually asked that on the “sticky” thread, but I’m not sure if I got a response.
