Further thought into the subject made me realize that these are truly the ultimate barrels.

Oh man if you make a Yager crate/barrel that would be sha-weet. You got some good reference pics for that’s for sure.

Ok, put some more thought into the subject and I think I’ve got my concept now.

[b]Game Genre: Super-hero Platformer

Prop: A Rage-Inducing Chemical Device

I’ve got two possible devices, haven’t decided on which one to go with yet.

The first is a barrel hat that mixes Jagermeister and toxic sludge(see above photos) in order to give rage super powers to the super villian wearer. This would be the super villian’s primary source of power.

The second:

Story: An evil super genius has stolen all of the city’s Jagermeister supply and is using it to fuel a machine that is capable of turning the entire city into a bunch of raging alchoholics. This barrel-shaped machine mixes 1 part Jagermeister with 1 part toxic sludge, and creates a rage-inducing byproduct. He plans on mass producing this chemical and then letting it loose on the entire city.

This device would be more like a mass production beer vat, similar to the earlier photos I showed. I’m going to start sketching the next couple of days to see which one I like better. If anyone prefers one over the other, let me know. :thumbsup:

Finally got a chance to sit down and rough out a quick concept sketch for the contest. Can’t say I was entirely sober when creating this image. I apologize…

This is the helmet concept that I previously mentioned. The evil villian drinks a combination of Jagermeister and toxic waste from his barrel helmet in order to get his superhuman rage powers.

Next, I’m going to do a concept for the “Jager Bomb,” which has the same components, but is meant to detonate and release the rage-inducing components. The player hero would have to go around busting up these barrel bombs before the evil villian can detonate them and send the city populace into a blind rage.

After that, I’ll pick one and start modeling it. Hoping I can get some free time to do a low and high for normal mapping, but at this point, might just have to settle for the low.

I made a quick 10 minute mockup 3D model, just to make sure I could meet the technical requirements for the Jager helmet. The model on the left is only 500 triangles, so I think I’ll be able to afford putting some nice detail in the antlers. On the right is just a sub-d copy. I think if I have time to do the high poly, the normal mapped antlers could come out real, real nice.

Time has been a real big limitation for me these 2 weeks. I really wish I could spend more time on this, but hopefully I can still get something banged out for the deadline. I’m also still considering doing the “Jager Bomb” version of the prop, which could be modeled alot faster than the helmet. As always, any and all comments are welcome.
