if you mean what i think you mean, you can apply a UNWRAP UVW to create a 2d map of your thingy. more than that i don’t know. i’m learning as i go :slight_smile:

i don’t know what you mean by baking the normal maps.

I could of swore that someone mentioned the tools to use to do this somewhere in this challenge. I think it was in JamesMK’s thread, but I’m not sure. Look around, you’ll find it. I am really eager to see how this will turn out in lowpoly.

I think the latest pic is low poly. It looks good far, though its gonna need a little bit of color to make it spring to life. Waiting for an update!

yeah that’s right ( Supervlieg comment ) but I ment low poly wires, we could give you some tips, this should go under 1000 no problem.

I’m actually done with my entry, just making the submission images… :thumbsup: I don’t think the fact that we haven’t made all of our submission images counts to disqualify

a cool thing your crate. what can be found in it, and what is the screen for?

some improvements would be to have an animated gif as the diffuse texture, where only the lcd screen is animated and always giving out lines of code and scrolling down.

and you could fake some kind of ambient occlusion/“shadow”, where 2 hoses coming out the container, and elsewhere thing stand out the planes, to give it more depth.

the idea is basicly a biohazard medical container

computer can control pressure, temp, proccesing stuff u know :stuck_out_tongue:

and i added some groves where the pipe goes in the crate, it better now (i think)

wish i had more time!!
im really rushing with the textures :sad:

oh and i dont think animated gif is allowed
maybe ill add it after the challange :smiley:

how did you get that fine of detail in a 512x512 color map?

He probably textured half and then mirrored it. That would allow for finer details.

yes, overlaping uv’s, it’s very crisp. I thought he knew something I didnt.
