PROP 101 THEME:
JUNGLE / OVERGROWN VEGETATION
I have chosen to design a weapon that has evolved with the jungle, the weapon itself is alive.
I will be modelling my weapon with 3D Studio MAX 7 and creating my textures and concept art with Adobe Photoshop CS 2.
Genre:
This prop is for a first-person shooter, it is the “on-the-floor” model used for the weapon.

Background Story:
The weapon which was found a year ago at an archeological dig in the dense jungles of India, named “The Petal” by the local’s has since been discovered to be alive, originally it was in hibernation but as soon as the weapon was worn… woken up, it took the wearer as host, forming a symbiotic relationship with him.
The Petal gets it’s basic food through photosynthesis, but this is only enough for when it is in hibernation, to function properly it requires far more nutrition, which is supplied by its host, the wearer.
In return for these nutrients, the host can control the firing mechanism of The Petal.
When the wearer feels threatened and a need to use The Petal as a weapon, it automatically “turns on” and pull’s the wearer’s arm in the direction of the threat, then automatically track’s it, meaning the wearer only has to pull the trigger and it will fire a perfect shot at the target. The projectile shot is a highly acidic seed which explodes on impact, spraying mini-seeds all around the target area.
The only problem with The Petal is that it cannot be removed, it form’s microscopic threads that root deep into the human central nervous system, which if pulled out will permanently damage, or kill the wearer.
