Aight, ill post a sketch and the basic information in here sometime within the next day or two, good luck to everyone.
UGAC - PROP 101 - JUNGLE - casesensative
Heres some ideas im juggling, two quick little sketches i did in class. VERY QUICK.
The hammer is named Thornhammer its an elemental hammer that lies deep within the jungle, it holds to power to the element of nature…blah blah blah.
The other is that there was a shack in the forest, and over time the growth took it over and a tree or some very large vines actually grew under it and lifted it into the air and it sorta became one with the tree.
sketches below > umm…gimme some input…dont even know if ill use those ideas or not.
edit: hah…you might want the image.

Aight, i went with the mallet for now. Heres the modelling done so far, around 750 tris. more ‘rootiness’ will be added at the bottom of the handle.
The mallet is supposed to be completely organic as if it grew out of the ground, as it is completely elemental based.

gimme some frippin feedback!
I like the idea! Maybe you can make the spikes more organic, give them a little twist or something, some longers than the others.
Something about the claw end of the hammer bothers me. It doesn’t read as roots or branches yet. They are a bit too short and all going in the same direction and all looking the same length. I think it would be interesting to vary the length and maybe intertwine a few of them?
I also agree with the spikes not looking organic. They are to regularly spaced and sized, vary it up.
Thanks for the input, i did fix the things with the spikes…very good point. I fixed the spikes but i dont think its any use updating it until i figure out what to do with the extra 300 tris i have to spare…any ideas? I tried using half circles that were around 40 tris each to use the alpha and make a reef of flowers around the middle of the hammer but it didnt look good. So i still have 300 tris to do something with.
