I’d love to collaborate. I PM’d you.
UGAC - II - Once Upon a Time in the Apocalypse
Squirrel,
Let’s talk. That zbrush head you got going on is pretty cool by me. I sent you my email addy via PM.

I have three character concepts. So I’m going to just start throwing them up here and then work it out with Squirrel which one we’ll have him model.
Israel Catch is a gun-slinging outlaw. He wouldn’t be at home in any of the nation states, so he makes his living in the badlands doing skin art and the occasional heist. He’s also developed considerable notoriety as a gun slinger. Maybe too much as he’s constantly being hounded by would be rivals.

The quintessential reluctant gungslinger is the preacher, a classic western image. In the post-apocalyptic world he’s a cross between a samurai and a paladin. He’s prefers a long sword to a gun but can hold his own in a gun fight if need be. Typically he rents his services out to those who can afford his skill. Mind you he’s also a servant of God so you might get a bargain if he sees your cause as the will of his divine master.

Chitra Rai is a Sarasen. She can ride a horse like no one’s business and can shoot the wings of a fly at a quarter mile. She also can handle herself with a sword. Like the cruisaider she’s devoted to her God. But her goal is to root out the heressy of the militant jihadists.
Nice designs man. They’re all really cool and have great potential! You better make these into a comic (when you finish your Korean Samurai!)
The third, though very nice, seems a bit out of place. The first 2 seem to fit well, but I’d have to say the first one seems best to me. I think the whole preacher/gunslinger thing is a bit overdone.
Yeah. Israel is my favorite as well. The most “cowboy” of the bunch. The preacher thing can never be done to death though
Like the blind-samurai it’s a tried and true cliche so overdone it’s iconic. Chitra looks out of place when you see her head. But when you see her with a bare-midriff and chaps you won’t care.
This might not look like much of an update. But I agonized over this for HOURS. Several failed starts and I’m still not happy with the gesture. Anyway I was playing around with Israel’s proportions.

Israel is one of the more intresting guys so far. I like the fast sketch you gave for Israel.
I like all the drawings so far man. Your drawing are pretty damn free and full of movement.
Looking forward to see what comes out of this. So your working together with someone right?
Sometimes when I get all blocked up and it feels like I am trying to force it…I push it all to the side and think about playing the game. I think about the character and in my mind I can see his personality. I can see how they talk and move. I think up some sceneros in which they would be in the game and play it through my mind, till I see it…then its like freeze frame and I hold that thought, that pose and things seems to just flow better.
He is a great character man, you got to let him free to be who he needs to be. When you do that things will just flow out of you.
I hope your colaborator gets in touch, but regardless I say keep working on it and keep pushing, if it doesn’t pan out for this, I think you got some great characters for a project you could do and develop.
GL LD.
LordDubu! Hey man, this stuff is looking pretty sweet! Dig the concept too! As far as the competition I hope your partner gets in touch, I would love to see these in 3d! Maybe afterwards I could build one for you! Ha!
Also, about the RPG idea. Never give up! Put together a design document, a pitch bible, a short animation, a comic book. This will help you get your idea out and get known. A lot of stuff starts as just a joke with the creator just wanting to have fun and then BAM! Somebody in power sees it and wants a part of the action. That’s all it takes! I wouldn’t give up on!
Sorry for the ^-- Rant, good luck with this man! Can’t wait to see an update!
Alright Hey,
I’m back. Sorry i was under the impression there was internet in the cabin we rented in Georgia.
Hey we need to get in contact to discuss the models, my aim S/N is “Al Foxhammer” (don’t ask) and i’m pretty much always online. Or if you prefer we could chat through gmail.

No worries Squirrel. Here’s the first orthos to get you started. I’ll work out the details on the goggles. but hopefully this will get you started. It’s midnight here so the body will have to wait until tomorrow night.
Reminds me a bit of the old guy who checked the fuel level in waterworld. I guess that’s mainly the beard and goggles.
Not hard to find this guy. He’s anywhere you go in rural America, places where motor oil is changed, and places where there are motorcycles.
hey. nice sketches. you mind if i kinda steal them? i would love to have a shot at modeling these guys as you 2 make them… not trying to muscle in on your compatition. just something i would like to do
Go for it. Do a WIP. I’d love to follow your progress on it. Just give me concept credit and give us a link back here from your thread. Oh and don’t enter it in the contest against us :).
thanks alot
and of course ill make sure i credit you. lol and aww. there was me hoping to win using someone elses hard work
ill start up a thread when i get started later
id love you to have an input
