I’ve always wanted to compete in the forum challenges that pop up here, but I’ve yet to finish one. So I thought I’d take a different approach this time. Collaboration. If there’s a competant modeler out there whoe just lacks concept skills maybe we could team up. I’ll handle the concept art and orthos. You tackle the modeling and maybe we can rock this mother out?
My concept is one I’ve been sitting on for a long time. I always thought it would make a great RPG setting. But who am I kidding. I can’t finish a cgtalk contest, when am I going to finish an entire RPG… The image below is to whet your appetite. PM me if you’re interested with some examples of your modeling and if I think your style fits mine maybe we can make this work.
Basically the concept is one of a world that just as it crosses over into a new age of technology is turned on its ear by jihadists who use that same technology to cause economic instability and the eventual “dust bowling” of the global economy.
Walled nationstates are all that remain of the former world. Some are corporate cities that managed to survive. Some are theocracies founded by those that undid the world. Still others are free-states, collections of those who refuse to be ruled by either religious dictators or corporate regimes.
Everything else is badlands. Scorched earth turned volatile desert. A no man’s land much like the old west of the spaghetti western. The image below depicts two of several different character archetypes I’d developed to exist in this world: The outlaw gunslinger and renouned tattoo artist Jacob Israel and freelance crusaider Mitchell Tate.
