It was such a blast working on this, even though creating it was incredibly challenging.

The inspiration comes from the works of an amazing hairstylist, Linh Nguyen.

I used Shave and Haircut for the hair, ZBrush was used for sculpting and do an initial layout plus a few Fibermesh stuff. Except the character’s hair which is 80% mental ray everything else is rendered in Arnold.

Fascinating and beautiful - definitely one of those pictures, that could decorate a wall (and not one in a hair stylists shop but above a cosy couch or maybe behind a workdesk).

Only one little thing catches my eye: The lower right quarter of her hair has another thickness and color then the rest. Is it because you wanted to hint, that not all of those strands are really her’s? In a picture of art like this one it disturbs me a bit. But - as so often - that is a personal impression, so don’t let your work be diminished by that.
