Twin suns?

#1

Is there any way I can render a scene with 2(or more) suns, or will I have to use photoshop to do that? I’ve played around with various lights but can’t seem to get two suns in the sky.

Tangster,

All you have to do is put a Directional light into the scene and then turn on Lens Flare. Play around with the settings until you get something that you like. Be sure that the new light casts shadows, so that it looks like a second sun. Also, make sure that “Point at Camera” is checked so that you can get it to show up in the scene.

Thanks for the tip, but is there anyway of doing it without lens flares?

To tell you the truth, I’m not sure. I’ll play around a little bit today and see what I can come up with.

Is it that classic Starwars look of the tatooine suns youré after?

Well… I believe that you only can have one Real sun that shows the big sundisc, unless you don´t want to have the sunflare style, so my suggestion is to simply do two renders and change the location of the second sun and then do a comp wether it is for a still in photoshop, or use a mask in after effects.

Yep-the tatooine look. In any case it’s more likely that a solar system has binary stars than a single one. Thanks, for th help guys. I’ll composite the two renders together.
