Tutorials: Painting Trees & Waves

#1

I don’t post on CGTalk very often ( you’re all too intimidating! D: ) but I thought I would share these tutorials I did fairly recently. Lack of sleep usually leads to me whipping out these silly technique things.

I’m also curious to know if anyone has ideas for other tutorials they’d like to see, because I enjoy making them and I like to create things that someone might find useful.

Fancy seeing you here! Nice tutorials as well.

I think the most useful tutorials would be how to actually lay down brushstrokes to get specific looks (clean, textured, impressionistic), and also choosing appropriate colors (this is a huge one that one tutorial won’t be able to cover). Inexperienced artists find it impossible to choose the “right” colors, and of course this is because there’s no such thing as one “right” color for anything–only appropriate and effective color for specific situations of lighting and mood. A tutorial that demonstrates how objects in different situations will have its colors drastically changed will really help drive the point home.
