Look for lightwave tutorials, it’s mostly the same as in Modo.

So true. Lw tuts rock with modo , cause toolset is quite the same, but with great advantages

there’s a great head modelling tut in Dan Ablan inside lw 6 and 7 book, but there are good tuts for plly by poly even on the web, especially those made from HRGiger (no is not the real one ) sorry but i haven’t the link, but maybe u could search for them, among tons of tuts in www.flay.com

basic tools for poly by poly in Modo, could be :

draw polygon, with pen tool (n sided and quads and allu want)
edge extrude (hit z, them move new geometry in plae)
the cut tool (or knife)
spin edge, or spin quads (results are the same- it spins edges to get a better polyflow)
join vertex ( it joins selected points, the lastselected being the final location)
move element tool to tweak the mesh (points, edges or polys)

But the extrude tool in Modo is not as good as the extender tool in LW, or is there any other tool which does the same thing as the point extender in LW?

#5

From the demos i have seen there is a Extend tool in Modo which works in Edge mode

#6

exactly. since in Lw you don’t have edges, u select points and extend them.

in modo u extend edges (hit z, then LMB click)

sorry if i wrote extrude edges.

is a different tool.

Sorry, what i mean is the extend tool, not extrude.

Look at this picture, what modo does is ‘A’, and what i want is ‘B’ (which LW does), it’s very annoying when i need to do extend those edges, then i need to modify point by point, to make A to look like B.

Is there any other way to do this task faster?

thanks by the help:). i hope soon there will be books and dvd to get more information about the stronger points of modo.
