Job Description
Qualifications: Two years broadcast experience as a designer. Knowledge
of video production and the limitations and parameters in designing for
TV. At least three years experience as a graphic designer whether in
print, broadcast or internet. Experience in after effects, 3D software,
photography, video, art direction, drawing skills. Bachelors degree.
Duties: Create animating graphic treatments and end pages for all
promos. Create bugs for associated promos. Work with producers in
developing and carrying out visual concepts for promos. Art direct
out-sourced jobs. Graphics creation: The design process: Creating
concepts: Brainstorming thumbnails, story boarding/style framing motion
testing etc. This is the primary job. Create a cohesive graphic look
carried throughout a spot that enhances the message and brands. This
includes the approval process. Art Direction: Smoke/flame/inforno/3D
lineal and non-linear compositing sessions for creation of graphics both
keyable and full frame, to be integrated into promos. Video and/or film
shoots for graphic elements when called for. When possible, art
directing avid and online compositing to ensure good graphics
integration. Production: Working primarily on the McIntosh. Software
after effects, Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, 3D EPS Invigorator,
fontographer. Producing final elements to be put to tape as well as raw
elements. This often overlaps with the design process. Education:
Staying current with the stats of art and design for inspiration.
Viewing tapes, movies, and periodicals for ideas. Keeping up on the
latest tools and upgrades to increase productivity. Collaboration:
Meeting with producers, superiors and management to keep in the loop on
all developments and maintain shared vision for all projects.
Maintaining communication and involvement from beginning to end of
