Training books & DVDs for PFlow

#1

Hi
Im looking for some recommendations for some good books or DVDs to buy for more advanced PFlow stuff.
I saw there are a couple on Allan McKays site but they are a couple of years old. (maybe this doesnt matter)

Does anyone know any more recent releases that are worth looking at?

thanks

CG academy has the Particle Flow Fundamentals set by Chris Thomas.
It’s very very complete and cover almost everithing of Pflow. I think is the best tutorial.

Check it here

After that there’s pretty bunch of tuts over the net.

I am going to plug these (form CG-Aacademy as well) for the fact that they give you an invaluable amount of great information and understanding on how particle flow works and how to manipulate it with maxscript. A great next step for sure

The Pflow Script Show

cheers

No. You need at least a basic knowledge, the more the better.

But as an FX artist you should definitely havesome scripting skills, its like (3dsMax)²

If you don’t have script skills, you can get the beginner CGAcademy scripting DVDs… now that’s starting to get suspicious here, I want my free t-shirt!

Too late, it’s already mine.

Maybe those tasks I perform from day to day are too simple to use script. I’ve use pflow for quite sometimes but never really face a circumstance that need to use script. But I take your words to learn more b4 too late, I may need it one day.
