Nothing new so far, just starting the thread.
I have been busy with the car though. I hope it is the '55 Ford Pickup, otherwise i am modeling the wrong truck.
Just a question for Kirt and/or ila:
how detailed do u want the truck?

I was thinking a '40s Ford, but this will do. Looks good so far, just remember to toon it and not go for accurate dimensions.
This truck is going to be a foreground object who’s only purpose is to frame the scene of the trailer and to inform the audience that this is lower class housing where the owners can’t afford to buy new pickup trucks. I don’t think we’ll even need the whole truck, but you might want to model it anyway in case it shows up in one of the other shots.
You can put it up on blocks, grow some weeds on it or make it look operational. I’ll leave that up to you.
Looking good there Poco… I was thinking maybe a nice big spiderweb crack in the windsheild would really poverty this thing up… good job…
Looks really good Poco. The only thing I would change would be to enlarge the headlights about 20-30% to emphasize the cartoon design.

Oop … before you get going on the wheels, change them to standard issue rather than custom wheels and don’t put a drop on the truck. Make it near stock in posture and appearance. Thanks!
Thanks for those encouraging replies there guys.
Kirt, I’ll make those lights bigger, just 1 question though; will the back of the truck be visible in the film.
It will be finished tommorow.
Poco
Probably not, but why not finish it anyway. WE can always hide/remove geometry that’s not seen on film.
Well, almost finished, ready to be ported to Maya (I hope) to get textured and wrecked :wip:.
Thats if Kirt gives his approval ofcourse
:thumbsdow ![]()

PS: I hate texturing, if somebody wants to do it, be my guest
Fantastic job! I like your style of modeling - it’s clean & precise
The combination of rounded surfaces & sharp geometrically perfect edges is realy helpfull to render both: cartoon look and detailed, beliveable object
I cant’t wait to see it textured !
I just cant get myself to texturing :hmm:, so i did some modelling. The tree this time (still not finished, but working on it).
Just 1 problem, how to add leaves???
