Traditional materials help?

Hey all

does anyone have an idea of what is a good alternative to newsprint for working in charcoal or pastels? I cant find a “pad” of newsprint here and my drawings are getting all messed up on a flimsey bit of newsprint. :frowning:

anyone got any ideas?

cheers!

Try Strathmore Drawing paper, or Charcoal Drawing paper. These should hold up better then newsprint.

Pastels don’t work well on a smooth paper like newsprint. For a better result you might like to try a more textured and heavier paper like Ingrespaper.

You can use Strathmore vellum bristol paper or pastel paper (i forgot what is was called but it is made by Strathmore . Those are rougher.
