tracking question

#1

Hi,

I’m quite new to combustion and am currently trying to learn it for a project I’m working on. I am working on tracking something but am having a few problems with it. Basically what I need to do is track an (Object B) to my source footage (Object A). However, I need to start tracking Object B to Object A after between frame 150 and 254. Then I need to use a different tracking point for the aforementioned objects from frame 255 till frame 385. Is this possible?

BTW, I need to use this method (or something similar) because I can’t find just ONE tracking point for the whole sequence.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, Thank You.

At the moment i’ve some troubles to think clearly  but why aren’t you just dublicating the layer and make tow trackings?

Track the part that you can use. Toggle the tracker off/on. Move it somewhere else, track that. Toggle the tracker off/on… etc etc etc.

If the tracker is set to “relative” instead of “absolute” it will only make changes based on vectors not on position. So just tell that tracker to turn off and turn on a new one you can then select any new point and it’ll continue to track that one giving the layer the relative changes. Learn this technique because you’ll probably use it at least once on every tracking job.
