TOYS FOR BOB

Novato, CA

www.toysforbob.com

Webster’s defines “Toys For Bob” as “No entry found for toys for bob”. And then it asks me if I meant “Deceivably”. I have no idea why it would suggest “Deceivably”. There’s nothing deceivable about us. We’re a small, video game developer in Novato, CA, which has published a wide variety of games for console and PC systems and we’re incredibly honest. We’re also very talented and experienced. And you know we must be talented and experienced because I first told you that we were honest.

Officially, the company began working for Accolade in the late 80’s on the first Star Control game. Star Control II followed and then for the next 9 years, Toys For Bob worked exclusively with Crystal Dynamics (now part of Eidos), creating The Horde, Pandemonium, The Unholy War, Little Witching Mischiefs, and 102 Dalmatians.

In 2002, Toys For Bob separated completely from Crystal Dynamics/Eidos. Our first product as an independent developer was Disney’s Extreme Skate Adventure, published by Activision, for the PlayStation 2, Xbox, and Nintendo Gamecube. The next title was Madagascar, released in the Spring of 2005, also published by Activision, based on the DreamWorks animated movie. It was also around that time that Toys For Bob became a wholly-owned subsidiary of Activision (what up!) and we are currently in the development stages of Tony Hawk’s Downhill Jam for the Nintendo Wii.
