Toxik / composite users

#1

Hi all,

If you use Toxik/Composite, I would be willing you to join aera toxik community. It is very active, with some high end user and some autodesk guys allways open to answer any question about the user of this software. The more people here, the better for every users :
http://area.autodesk.com/forum/autodesk-composite-toxik-and-combustion/
We use Toxik 2012 (hotfix is here on maya and max support pages) for a year now and I didn’t find active Toxik forums apart on aera. VFXtalkhave no one at all, fxguidehave a forum but not really active.
Also, a nice and active blog you have to know : EnigmaFX

Cheers,
Kib

PS : I’m not from and have nothing to do with Autodesk. I just think an active community about a software we use for production is allways a plus !

No offence,

But the lack of active forums out there must -say something-
AD has been trying to sell Toxic for years, but also failed miserably trying it.

Just face it, most of the companies have moved from Shake to Fusion and Nuke for their compositing. Toxic isn’t on their radar any time soon.
At least that’s what I’m seeing at the companies I know.

But if you’re willing to use software that comes free as a gift, has almost no dvelopment and can be pulled any time, be my guest.

my 2 cents on toxic/composite.

You would be very surprised how much people use it and what they do with it :wavey:
Anyway it is developed, hotfix4 is jsut out, and a lot of people coming from Nuke using Toxik find it faster to use. Anyone is free to use what they think does the job better, and my intent was not starting a war. I know Nuke, and even without talking about price, I prefer Toxik UI and workflow. Others think the opposite, and that’s nice.

I’m not saying it’s not used at all, it’s just that on our side of the pond it’s going very very low under the radar

no flamewar intention either, it’s good there’s choice
