Don’t cry:shrug:

Torque is good engine. Anything is possible but it is most fitting for Strategic/FPS games. If you got the Shader version, you are in good hands as well.

I can’t give you any help here as there are PLENTY of tutorials for it on GG.

But if you are starting out on game programming, you should have digged a little deeper into other engines with your needs. Cipher and Truevision3D are very powerful, just like Torque and have more and are better coded than Torque.

If you are experienced (at least know a little about OpenGL or DX), then you will have no problem. I used Torque years ago. So don’t remember much either, I have seen quite some demos of its new one. I think it will pack a little puch now.

Ken Finney’s book “3d Programming All in One” might be a good start. It’s written specifically for Torque. I don’t know about the programming side of it, but I have used it a lot for the Terrain editor. I would read through the GarageGames forum on this book, and see if it fits with your experience/needs.

… yes torque is a good engine and you’ve got tuts on the website … you can start by downloading the file EGTGE.zip which contains pdf files … but if it’s your first try with games you could have tried other engines (such as Blitz3d or Darkbasic) which are less powerfull but easier to understand …
