Topography... I know I learned this...

#1

So I’m almost positive that theres some way for rhino to basically create a topography in 3d out of a 2d topography map. What this would do is extract every line over the one around it by a set amount. I’m pretty sure I learned this at the end of last semester but I just started using Rhino again so I forget!

If this is not possible and I’m just hallucinating then is there any easier way to do a topography than extrude a curve, move it up, extrude next curve, move all those up, etc etc

THANKS!!!

ARe you thinking of the Hightfield command maybe?

no its not. i think what i learned was going from 3d -> topography, not the other way around -_-

Patch is what you’d use to get a surface from a random bunch of contour curves.

Hmm, I’m not sure exactly what you’re talking about. In the first post, you said you were looking for a way to create a 3d model from a 2d topography map. Heightfield would seem like the best tool for creating something like that.
