too much sketch of the week

#1

I am not sure if as an animator I am not too much predisposed , but looking at cgtalks frontpage I see so much more photoshop art and sketch of the week announcements, and rarely any animations.

not that I would not apprechiate a good "D drawing, but I find the animation a bit undersupported in here.

it acctually came to my mind after seeing this great 3D shortmovie NOT making it to frontpage. I wrote PM“s to at least 5 moderators, but didnt even get a reply.

so my request regarding front page announcement would be to keep a bit more ballance between drawing and animation.

I’d plug it if I had the power… the camera and character animation was great and the overall composition was very well executed.

sure this wasn“t this posting here, but suddenly the front page is full of anims, animation sessions aso.

whish and it will be given

I totally understand. It’s hard to find the right balance on the front page and the Forum Leaders themselves are always pushing each other’s plugs off. It’s bizarre. It’s just how the front page works until we find a better solution to the problem.

The funny thing at this moment is: Right now there is 3 animation links on the front page.

The Forum Leaders were just arguing about that. I posted that the front page was a bit animation heavy and copped flak. Apparantly people like it. Whatever…it’ll shift off when more outstanding work comes in.

The front page comes and goes… complain about it one week and it’ll change the next. That’s just the nature of the front page…

Just a small suggestion… could there be a side link that shows the ā€œprevious frontpagesā€, so if a frontpage topic does get bumped, members can view an archive?

Rob’s working on a way that we can have scrolly arrows for people to refer to older plugs.
