One of my favorite artists! Only thing not quite right is the hat texture. It looks like Naugahyde, but should be wool felt. Still a fantastic job, though.

Fantastic work !

Congrats !

Cool realistic render of head and hairs!

#6

This is a great piece of work (lights, textures, not to say modeling).
I wonder only about that kind of a halo which hair produce around chin. I’ve seen it in many mray renders and some vray too. It is not present in the references, so I presume it is an artifact.
If absolute adherence to realism is what is sought for, this is a (maybe small) issue worth of working at, IMO.
That I’m speaking about such nuances tells a lot about the excellent level of the images.

Congrats!
i like face texture and hairs

awesome work!

Thank you for nice comments everyone. I am happy you find this interesting. regarding the chin halo effect ebasta, thanks for your observation. I think that is what happens if you have hair with gray specular, I have double checked some references after reading your comment, I think the halo is there in reality but maybe a bit more muted than what is produced in mental ray render, but I agree it could be toned down a bit. I will try it on my render and see what happens.

thanks again

Nothing fancy Ksandi, I am thinking about upgrading. right now I have a quad core (2.33 MHZ) cpu, 6 gb RAM, 512 mb graphic card. I use windows vista (64bit). THank you for the comment.

#12

congrats, this is awesome man. do you hand paint head texture or use photo projection?

#13

Thanks Rouhollah, I hand paint the textures. I checked your portfolio and blog and your works are really interesting. I really dig the clay sculpture of the creature head with junk-made armature very much. whereabouts in Canada are you dude?

thanks again for your comment
