I currently hold a bachelors degree in architecture engineering and i am currently finishing my masters in architecture design. For the past 3 years I have been playing with 3D max and vray creating architectural renderings. So far I have become decent in it, and I have grown a passion for it. I am debating to switch my career to VFX, but of course I cant afford to do that with loans and already a family. I am thinking of doing the self taught path and slowly create a reel.
- I am 28 years old, am I to old to switch and break into the industry?
- How long does it usually take to become good at a self taught pace?
- I have various DVD tutorials from Gnomon, cg academy, and others, are there any other ones i should look into?
- I am more interested in working with particles and effects, is there a certain pipline i should follow?
