Eduardo Chillida was the famoust spanish sculptor over the world in the XXth century. A few years before he died, he had the most ambitious project that any sculptor could ever have. It was a sort of land-art action consisting on: take a mountain, empty it, and create a huge space inside… Chillida always looked for space in his investigations. He’s been inpiring for many architects all over the world, due to the interesting spaces he created. The last project could never become real; after looking for the perfect mountain to do this, he found it in Canary Islands, in Fuerteventura. I’ve been trying for some time to make a short film just to show this particular and incredible space inside the mountain. I’m still confident that the family of Chillida will be interested on that film. Meanwhile, I’d like to share the first pics of the inner space with you.

the only wierd thing is that the little guy looks too dark?

The render is: Brazil, with just one area light, and the scene has only one texture. But the geometry is so intrincated (though simple) that lighting is not so easy, even if you use one single light source.

The render looks really nice! I love what I see people doing with Brazil.

It’d be nice to see the textures wrap around the corners as they’d naturally do in rock. As well the person’s pose is the divinci(unposed), it’d be nice to see some more expression in the pose.
