Hello everyone ! I’m writing my first post (YAY!)

There a matte painting i did last week.

Hio Ben,

Glad to see you post here! Definitely not the wrong place :slight_smile: The mood is in the piece, but I think in general, there’s too much snow obscuring the nice environment (and with noticeable patterns), black levels aren’t consistent in Z Depth (I see some black levels near the sun beam area darker than in the foreground areas). Also the shadows are a little too blurry as a whole, remember that shadows attenuate in blur from the source, outward. So start out a little sharper, and have it blur out slightly the further it is away from the object. You can also play more with a warmer key light from the sun (more orange) and then keep the blues in the shadows. I’d also play more with the sky composition to make it more interesting, and have it focus more around the sun lit area. Try improving those a bit first and see where this goes! Keep it up!!
