Thank you everyone for your posts. Thanks, I appreciate it a lot!
I originally wanted to do a dynamic shot, but I decided to keep it clean and simple so that the curves of the vehicles and their harmony would stand out on the clean environment of the salt lake. I like the likeness of sharks in the vast space of the sea and the artificial shark on the vast salt flat - dried out sea. You can feel the space and freedom. And one more thing, even when the sea is dried out, it’s still a dangerous place because the sharks are still there.
The colours depend on the actual colour temperature of the star Gliese 581 - 3480°K.
The picture isn’t painted. It’s a render.
Syd’s style… I thought a lot about it and I sketched a lot of shapes… I didn’t want to do just a variation on some existing Syd’s work (vehicle or scene). My aim was to try and understand the essence of Syd’s style and then add something mine to it, something new.
Then of course some background story… I like it when sci-fi is at least a little influenced by real facts and doesn’t take place somewhere totally bizarre. Then you can identify with the fiction and say to yourself… maybe if I would live long enough, I could actually live to see this.
Maybe we will live to see at least the colonization of the Moon, Mars and who knows maybe even Gliese 581 c or Gliese 581 d and New Bonneville will be discovered and DaisyBelle will race against White Shark.
Btw MRC444, great design, like a bird.
Thank you once again!
Here are some pictures for a better view of the big vehicle:
